Florida's Waters: Ours to Protect
Desired Outcome: To present the Water Resources Management division of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in a way that tells a story about the work that they do, while also presenting educational resources about water to Florida’s citizenry. Read, here, in their own words their thoughts about this project.
The web presence they built has received, and is still receiving, applause and gratitude for such an amazing resource.... Florida’s watersheds are well served by their creativity, photography, videography and interpretive skills. -- Bonnie Hall, Florida Dept. of Environmental Protection
Content Strategy: One of the primary objectives of the content strategy was to present the content in a more visual and compelling way than it’s presented elsewhere. From the Mome Page, to the Water Channel, photography and video are used to help tell the story.
In the Restoring Rivers, Lakes and Streams section of the site there are 8 original audio slideshows, with video interviews, comprising more than 60 minutes of original programming. The Watershed and River Basin Map provides a map interface to all the watersheds of Florida, providing access to detailed descriptions and resources for each watershed.
ePostcards and Wallpaper images are provided to help site visitors share their interest in protecting Florida’s waters.
All content was produced by Fusionspark Media, and the entire site is managed by the client through Fusionspark Media’s propriety Content Management System (CMS).
In the Client's Word:
FSM truly understood the message we wanted to send through ProtectingOurWater.org. They were able to capture and present the concept of citizen-driven protection of water resources in an engaging, informative and attractive site. The web presence they built has received, and is still receiving, applause and gratitude for such an amazing resource. FSM walked us through the process of creating a new web site and guided our course as we navigated the waters of internet communications for the first time. Florida’s watersheds are well served by their creativity, photography, videography and interpretive skills.
