Flash Interactives & Animations
FSM has produced several Flash-based interactives as educational tools.
Flash Interactive Yard
The Interactive Yard was an FSM original concept that ultimately led to the development of FloridaYards.org, the definitive online resource for Floridians to learn about Florida-Friendly Landscaping concepts. The Interactive Yard allows users to learn how to minimize lawn space by creating beds for native and drought-tolerant plants while also including rain barrels, micro-irrigation, compost bins and more.
Illustrated Interactive Body
The Interactive Body is an educational tool developed for FSM's original online web documentary and educational site The Gift of a Lifetime, co-sponsored by Donate Life America and Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation. Site visitors can explore to the interactive to learn about the organs and tissues that can be donated for transplant.
Journey of Water Interactive
The Journey of Water interactive feature is part of FloridaSprings.org, another original FSM production developed in collaboration with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The interactive takes viewers on a tour to understand the water cycle and the anatomy of the aquifer and springs in Florida. Introduction of "human" elements explain threats to the aquifer and springs.
River Friendly Farm
The River Friendly Farm interactive was created as part of FSM's online web documentary The River Returns focusing on Florida's St. Johns River. This interactive teaches viewers about agricultural best management practices (BMPs) intended to minimize the impact of farming practices on watersheds and rivers. The River Friendly Farm was produced in collaboration with Karst Productions, Florida Department of Agriculture and the St. Johns River Water Management District.
Wakulla Spring Cave Dive
The Wakulla Springs Interactive Cave Dive allows viewers to explore one of the world's largest cave systems. The interactive feature is part of the in-depth Wakulla Spring web documentary feature developed in collaboration with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Wakulla Spring: A Giant Among Us was produced to draw attention to threats to groundwater supplying one of Florida's great environmental treasures.
The Interactive Springshed gives viewers a chance to learn about threats to the aquifer and groundwater supply flowing to Wakulla Spring located near Tallahassee, Florida. The interactive feature is part of the in-depth Wakulla Spring web documentary feature developed in collaboration with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
