There’s some interesting connectivity between last year’s closing Content Marketing World keynote speaker, William Shatner, and this year’s opening keynote speaker Kevin Spacey. We are, quite literally, going from space to Spacey!
Kevin Spacey’s James MacTaggart Memorial Lecture at the Edinburgh Television Festival, last year, generated buzz amongst content marketers because of what he had to say about audiences, platforms and storytelling.
Spacey said, for example, “If you watch a TV show on your iPad is it no longer a TV show? The device and length are irrelevant … For kids growing up now there’s no difference watching Avatar on an iPad or watching YouTube on a TV and watching Game Of Thrones on their computer. It’s all content. It’s all story.”
This is a sentiment not lost on Content Marketing World founder, Joe Pulizzi, who announced today that Kevin Spacey will be the opening keynote speaker.
“We are beyond thrilled to have Kevin Spacey joins us for this year’s event,” says Joe Pulizzi, founder of the Content Marketing Institute. “Mr. Spacey is a dynamic actor, writer, producer and director. His critically-acclaimed Netflix original series, House of Cards, has broken content distribution barriers in television. We believe he has great insight that applies to content marketing and corporate storytelling that will resonate with our audience.”
This is sure to be a special year at Content Marketing World!
