Designing Across Platforms
Runs through Wednesday, August 12th, 2009
Time & Place
Metropolitan Ballroom, Golden Valley, MN
Remember back in the day when you would say silly things like "I'm a print designer", "I do post-work for TV", or "I design for the Web"? Sounds kinda funny now, huh? That's because our industry has transformed into a rapidly evolving world that includes a mashup of video, print, mobile, motion graphics, custom apps, widgets, games, streaming, dynamic content, interface design, DIY CMSs, blogs, social media, search, analytics and who knows what? Phew! So how do we wrap our arms around designing for all these platforms without losing our minds? Our August speaker has promised to enlighten us on this very topic.

enterpriseSeattle’s Washington Interactive Network will convene its 3rd annual Power of Play Economic Update Lunch. A panel of industry executives will explore the state of our region’s $4.2 billion Interactive Media Industry.
As a dominate player in this arena, how is our region surviving the economy? What does it mean to the independent developer whose creativity and entrepreneurship feed this economic engine? What trends and innovations are coming our way despite the recession? Our executive panel will address these questions and more.
At this year’s event, we will also release the results of the interactive media cluster study which looks at our region’s competitiveness compared with other areas in the US and Canada. How do we compare to states and countries who are aggressively pursuing this industry? What do we need to do to keep up?
Over 200 attendees are expected to participate in the third annual Power of Play including: executives from the game industry, legislators, government officials, researchers, media, service providers, and community leaders, including viewers from the UK and Brisbane.
