Bonnie Benjamin-Phariss, Executive Producer of Vulcan Productions, will join Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival Director Lisa Samford on the “Make Movements, Not Movies” Keynote Panel of the 1st Annual Seattle Interactive Documentary Summit.

The panel will explore how and why documentary storytelling experiences should move from the realm of the traditional linear film, and into the multi platform realm, with a special emphasis on the potential for interactive storytelling to influence behaviors and drive change.

Ms. Benjamin-Phariss, who has served in leadership roles with Walt Disney Company’s Disney Institute and WNET prior to joining Vulcan Productions, has garnered Peabody, Emmy, Grammy and Wildscreen Panda awards for groundbreaking multiplatform projects about health and the environment.

Ms. Samford has worked on documentary projects for Discovery, PBS and National Geographic, and has been Executive Director of the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival since 2002. Under Ms. Samford’s leadership, the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival has featured multiplatform and advocacy storytelling panels and workshops to advance its programming into the “Web 2.0” world.

Russell Sparkman, CEO of FusionSpark Media, Inc., a non-fiction digital storytelling pioneer and co-producer of the Interactive Documentary Summit, will moderate the panel.
