Florida’s Water: Ours to Protect
Informing the public about water resources management.

The Project
After producing a series of highly acclaimed and successful web-based initiatives about Florid’a freshwater environment, FusionSpark Media was tapped by the director of the Water Resource Management division of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to produce the definitive web presence about Florida’s water management.
The project exemplifies the “definitive resource” strategy for high rankings in search for key terms, and many years after launch, this site continues to rank highly for the most relevant terms.

Interactive Watershed Map
A priority desired outcome was to use GIS mapping to connect Floridians to their watershed, much like the lines on a map connect them to a county.
This interactive map serves as a gateway to detailed information about each major watershed in Florida.

The Water Story
Approximately 90 minues of original audio-visual slideshow content was produced for this project. Each segment focused upon a specific issue that Water Resources Management was involved with, such as Stormwater Runoff.
FusionSpark Media spent weeks in the field, documenting the story in photographs and conducting interviews.
In addition to the audio-visual content, there are many interactive graphics presented in The Water Story section.

Audio-Visual Slideshows
The audio-visual slideshows were approximately 6 minutes long, on average.
Significant research, pre-production work, field work and post-production went into the making of each of the audio-visual slideshows.
